Middletown, NY (OCLT) – The Orange County Land Trust will hold a guided hike up Schunnemunk Mountain beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 10. Led by OCLT Past Board President and avid hiker Dr. Douglas McBride, this easy to moderate, family friendly hike leads to a breathtaking overlook of the Hudson River Valley.
Come enjoy a beautiful spring hike through Schunnemunk Mountain State Park before its possible closure due to state budget cuts. Reservations are not required, but are suggested as space is limited. A donation of $5 per person or $10 per family is appreciated with proceeds benefitting the Land Trust’s land preservation projects in Orange County. Meeting place is at the hikers’ parking area on Clove Road just south of Hil-Mar Lodge in Salisbury Mills. All hikers are encouraged to wear comfortable boots and bring a bag lunch and plenty of water.
