Gala and Silent Auction at The Thayer Hotel
Join us for another exciting evening as we gather at the Thayer Hotel at West Point on Sunday, June 4 at 4:30 pm. This year’s Benefit Gala will honor Klara Sauer for 20 years of leadership in open space protection. The Louis V. Mills Award will be presented to John Gebhards, who retired as Executive Director of our Land Trust in December, for his many contributions to environmental preservation and planning. Joan K. Davidson, noted environmentalist and past Commissioner of New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will be the keynote speaker for the evening. Come along on a free Wildflower Walk on Saturday, June 3, 9:00 am
Get acquainted with the flowers and animals in a wooded ravine in the Fuller Mountain Preserve in Warwick. Meet at the Shop-Rite shopping center south of Warwick on Route 94 to car pool to the preserve. All are welcome! Leader: Orange County Community College Professor Tom Alford. Orange County Land Trust Advisory Council Chair Louis V. Mills and NYU History Professor Richard W. Hull will deliver a talk at the Thrall Library in Middletown at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 25. Discover radicals, loyalists, farmers and citizen militias here in Orange County during the American Revolution. Learn of the lasting consequences of the War in the Valley. Refreshments served.
